Khady Sao is an Arlington, VA.–based pop artist whose music blends melodic hooks, live instrumentation, and a unique perspective shaped by a childhood across London, Abu Dhabi, Accra, Dar es Salaam, Dakar, and the United States.
Raised in a family with musicians and producers, Khady began writing and performing alongside her older brother, Lamine Sao, at school talent shows and community events. That creative partnership now anchors her debut album: a 9-song pop project co-written with Lamine and developed through close family collaboration.
Recorded between London and Arlingon, VA, and co-produced with British producer Andy Whitmore at Greystoke Studios, the album pairs polished pop production with live elements including saxophone, layered vocals, guitar, synths, and keyboards. Khady’s songwriting reflects both her international upbringing and a voice grounded in rhythm, melody, and movement.
Her debut album ranges in style with elements of pop, funk, jazz, and trap.
